Those plastic toy figures left on the floor by children all throughout the world are finally getting put to good use. Korean designer Do Ho Suh knows a thing or two about design. The Korean born artist studied oriental painting at the Seoul National University before moving to the U.S. to receive a BFA in painting from Rhode Island School of Design and MFA in sculpture from Yale University. In his latest ‘Floor’ installation, Do Ho Suh took a common toy and transformed it into a practical piece of art. The ‘Floor’ installation consists of thousands of multicolored plastic toy figures holding up a large glass plate that can hold the weight of people across the glass. Dope.

An absolute disgrace and horrible excuses for human beings. “Chicago police are currently questioning six Chicago teenagers after footage of a brutal beating of a 17-year old Chinese student went viral on Monday. Amidst the controversy of the events, street artist David Choe has chosen to immortalize the teen in his latest wall mural. The motivation for the piece stems from Choe’s observation and interpretation of the victim who – despite continued verbal slurs and physical abuse, remained resolute and unyielding to take off his backpack in the face of the brutal attacks. In the midst of outspoken political activists calling for action, it is good to see artist like David Choe using their respective mediums of communication to speak their voice”.
